Guys like Perlini, Ritche, Virtanen, Fleury are a notch below, and Ehlers is a real wildcard - I think the lack of skilled guys with size makes Dal Colle or Draisatl the better pick over Ehlers.

I think the Panthers seriously considering Ehlers at 2 or 3 is incredibly unlikely. Tallon was just tossing bluffs out there.
