Upper body strength could negate lower body strength in terms of speed, couldn't it? Like a guy with big pectorals would be good at squeezing things, but in terms of skating that would just be extra mass, even if it's muscle. I don't think there's too much of a good thing when we're talking about the "skating muscles" though.

Obviously, if the perfect skater is all lower body, he wouldn't actually be much good at hockey. You still need other strength, like for shooting the puck.
