I dont care what anyone says about this being a weak draft. Our scouts have been working hard all year - you cant take 3 picks in the top 62 and trade them for one - just because Ekblad and Bennett are the top rated prospects, and one of them got granted exceptional status to play in the OHL at 15.
Go back and look at the players who have come out of the 2nd / 3rd round..
Gaudreau was a 4th rounder for crying out loud.
Sometimes these picks are more important than taking a potential franchise Dman or the top skilled forward 1st overall.
I'd be way happier with taking whoever the scouts like most with our 1st and keeping all our picks and making every single one count. 1st, 2nd or 3rd round! They are very valuable.

I think the difference between Reinhart/Ekblad/Bennett and Dal Colle/Ritchie is quite large. If you really want a player, you do what you have to to get him.
