If you had a health inspector run through your food handling practices at home you would likely fail.
In general restaurants that I worked at were pretty good and both employees and owners cared.
I don't like the posting of letter grades on windows because that is such little information. The info is available online in significant detail of what the offences are. Just putting a letter grade on there fails to differentiate between the guys who have rodents and insects (Not that bad) vs the guy who leaves the food out to thaw on the counter all afternoon. (much worse).
People might be more disgusted by insects and rodents but bad food handling practice will get you sick
