IMO he's an NHLer, and has value. So letting him walk is bad asset management if that's true.....IF that's true.
I think he'd be great to have at camp for competition. If he gets ousted by a younger upstart, then you look to trade him. It's a better option than just leaving a spot open to "give" to a prospect. They should have to earn those spots.
