-Cammy's likely gone. This means that a top six spot is immediately open on the LW; I'm -thinking that Baertschi will work hard in camp and take this spot opening day.
-Gaudreau looks like dynamite and I'd love to see him on the Flames. He's good enough to be in a top six role getting fed soft minutes and offensive zone starts without being overwhelmed. However I feel Burke will do the smart thing of assigning him to the Heat at first to take a proper look at him there and see how it might translate to the NHL level, and this will also help to temper fan expectations of him. If he makes the Flames immediately that would put a lot more pressure on his shoulders than if he's eased in bit by bit.
-Byron is good enough to play in any combination and not look outta place so I'd favor him much more over the AHL'ers or someone like Galiardi. Had some nice moves last night that probably got inspired from watching Johnny Hockey highlights. I think he'll have a roster spot on the big club at the start of the season; it'll set a great example of "Small but play big, you get to stay" by Burke & Hartley.
