I could have sworn taxpayers were footing the money for the bills. HNIC was pretty successful in the 80's when Ballard's Leafs were but a footnote and the Flames were bombing them 8-1. The thing is that the could televise every Saturday Night Leafs game and still get the same amount of viewers and advertising dollars but they went a step further in making every Coaches Corner into "Cherry, Ron, and the Leafs". Leafs this, Leafs that. They went way overboard and like I said I feel bad for the regular people that will lose their jobs but I don't feel sorry for HNIC or CBC at all.
