Agreed here. Personally I don't fault Darryl for trading away 2nd round picks for roster players, he had a contending roster and he went for it.

In the end, Darryl had 48 hours of insanity that left a lot of boat anchors on this team, but he still left them Iginla, Regehr, Bouw and Kiprusoff. As for such "poor" under-26 talent, he left Giordano, Brodie, Backlund. In the end, his downfall is he GM'ed like how he coached - to win the next game.

But yes, in the end, he is indeed the 2nd best GM this organization has had. As Pete said above, that doesn't mean he was a great GM though.
