What was deemed a minor penalty on the ice will have a major impact on Josh Ho-Sang and the Windsor Spitfires next season.
The Ontario Hockey League suspended Ho-Sang for 15 games Monday for contact from behind on London Knight defenceman Zach Bell in Game 4 of the Western Conference quarter-final series with the two teams on March 27. The suspension will begin at the start of the 2014-15 season.

Monday’s suspension could also have shed some light on why Ho-Sang was left off the training camp roster for Canada’s under-18 team despite finishing tied for 17th in OHL scoring in the regular season with 32 goals and 85 points in 67 games. Hockey Canada tends to abide by any league suspension in place.
“You would have to confirm with Hockey Canada on that, but I had extensive conversations with Hockey Canada in the last two weeks leading up to this incident and they (Hockey Canada officials) indicated they were taking him over to Europe,” Boughner said. “Through my conversations, everything was positive with Josh going over with the team.”
