How offloading game processing to Azure for Xbox One can improve graphics and performance:
Cliffs:
Two identical high-end gaming rigs run the same technical demo, but one version is cloud-enabled.
The number of chunks, physics calculations, etc. required overwhelms the first demo, pushing the frame rate from 32 FPS to a lowly 2 FPS at its worst. The second demo runs virtually flawless (a split second drop to 31 FPS from 32 was seen once).
I should be clear that this demo is NOT running on Xbox One, but it serves the purpose of demonstrating how cloud computing benefits gaming.
