He's referring to the fact that the swastika
is a religious symbol. I'm sure your original implication was that it would be tolerated since it was a symbol of Nazism rather than religion, but it is originally a Hindu & Buddhist symbol that was corrupted by the Third Reich for their own purposes.
In India and other parts of the world, the swastika is still often used as a religious symbol and often prominently displayed on buildings, jewelry and other decorations:
