That actually fits the current world geopolitical activities better considering all the interventions they have been instigated on foreign soil.
If men and women in society cannot defend themselves, these situations will happen wherever the weakest link is, and that currently is gun free zones.
Maybe in the future at some point we will have all bought into the non-aggression principle and it will no longer be an issue, but until then self defense is a basic instinct.

So you really think that arming people to the teeth is going to create fewer gun deaths? Honestly? Because just what I want in an already dangerous situation is an overly aggressive moron with a hero complex, who likely has little to no training in how to fire a weapon, trying his hand at vigilante justice.
If this country is going to continue to be so damn obsessed with "defending themselves," then we need to ensure that those carrying weapons are properly trained in how to use them, as well as stable enough to know when to use them.
It should be just as difficult for someone to own a weapon as it is to own and drive a vehicle. Education, registration, background check, etc, etc. If you can get through all of that, pass a training course and a mental health examination, I have no issue with you owning a weapon.
