No NHL team prefers small players to large players. But if your small player is Patrick Kane, you work around him. The same will go for JG. I imagine when Burke goes to have final contract talks with Gaudreau he will emphasize that JG will have the same opportunity as anyone else to make the Flames.

I don't know how they would fit him in but Iginla is year to year and we know the Bruins have had interest in Johnny Hockey for a while now and he's the player they wanted back for Seguin. I'm just connecting the dots here and this is just my opinion based on where he's playing school, his parents involvement in his career, and the Bruins interest.
Hopefully he comes around and signs with the Flames and this is all moot.
