It happens more in Canada than it used to though. The gun culture is starting to seep through (and is also being imported from other countries through immigration).

As far as gun violence is concerned, Canada is in the middle of the pack and isn't a shining example to the rest of the world. The U.S. is still way in the lead though and has gun violence levels equal to some countries with actual civil unrest and active wars.
