If he isn't signed, does he re-enter the draft? I assumed that is the case. If that does happen I doubt he would be drafted. If he's not drafted I believe he signs a one year AHL-only deal with someone, maybe even the Heat. I think he will have to prove himself in the AHL before getting an NHL deal.
Of course tomorrow he could sign a 3 year entry level deal making me look bad.

Coda seems to do a lot of things well, but there isn't any standout qualities with him. All of his abilities seem to be slightly below average, but there is nothing terrible about him.
If he signs, he'll easily be a useful depth guy on Abby, which would help to replace guys like David Eddy. Whether he proceeds beyond being AHL depth is really up to him and how he progresses.
I can see why you would or wouldn't sign him as he hasn't done anything to show he's terrible, but he also hasn't really stood out much. One of those situations where either choice is fine. You're either getting a place holder or you're getting the availability to find a different likely placeholder.
