I don't think highly doubtful is quite strong enough. There has been outstanding player development this season, but...
Obviously Monahan has and, in my opinion, will be great moving forward.
I believe the Colborne aquisition will turn into one of those trades that is talked about for years. I still think the big man even now is only scratching the surface of what he is capable of, and his progression this season has very steep.
I also believe Gaudreau will sign and will become that offensive 'game changer' that the Flames have lacked for a long time. I think those three can form a line that will eventually rival the best out there.
None of this will happen next year. If Cammy is gone, I'm not sure how his offense will be replaced. Our recent excellent run of late was mostly driven by his offensive output.
Flames will be a lottery team next year. How low? I have no clue. I think it could be top 3 or could be 13th. Either are equally possible, imo. It is going to be fun to see it play out.
