I haven't read every page so this may have been said but the logic his mom used about possibly taking someones job can easily be flipped.
If he stays in college, there is one less scholarship and one less spot on the team available for a kid who may need that scholarship and that education to have a better life. I would be far more concerned about taking that educational opportunity from someone than displacing someone who's already making an NHL player's salary.
There is no doubt the kid can play and there is no doubt that he can still finish his degree while playing pro. I don't see this as a tough decision at all.
