All this talk about finishing school etc has reinforced my theory that people have no idea what universities are really here for. Quite simply, there is a reason you never take a class called 'how to find a job' when you're in college. The point is not to use the experience to 'get a job' - that's how it's sold.

University is about being in an environment where you discover that thing that gets you so excited, so inspired and engaged, that it consumes your life. It exists to provide you with the ideal place to discover who you are.

After three years in college, John Gaudreau is internationally known as 'Johnny Hockey'. Whether or not he ever finishes his communications degree, I think he got what he was looking for out of his education.
