And I don't see what ratings have to do with anything.# Jerry Springer gets good ratings, as do gossip shows and other forms of cheesy entertainment.
Ratings have everything to do with it.

If FoxNews only showed completely one sided, highly slanted, pro right wing reports, commentators and news then why would a country split slightly to the left of 50/50 make it a ratings giant over CNN and NBC cable combined?

That doesn't add up.

I can buy some curiosity from the left from time to time, but not to the point that they drive up ratings.

Fox is different. I'll give you that, but maybe, just maybe between the unpalpable right wing screamers they are serving up a verion of the news that other media in the U.S. is fearful of providing. [/b][/quote]
You're assuming that people on both sides of the political spectrum are network loyal.

If you're a staunch conservative, what are your choices? It's FOX or bust. If you're a centrist or leftist, there are more choices. It stands to reason that the ratings among non-neocons are split. Conservatives are going to be more network loyal. I do not know any liberals who stand by a news network the way conservatives stand by FOX.

I would be curious to know what the ratings are country-by-country. I would bet that they are probably only #1 in the U.S..
