It gave the team an opportunity to find a true leader in Gio who plays his heart out for 82 gm. a yr. when healthy, and doesn't float thru 20-25 gm. per yr. like Iginla the last 5 yrs. when you never knew he was on the ice. It also opened the door for the current group of young guys that are playing a lot more entertaining style of hockey, rather than lets all pass to Iggy every time we cross the blue line. Also, the current group seems to buy into the fact you have to play d in your own end, something Iginla never seem to accept.
