The development of Brodie and his play in the second half is the thing that has me most optimistic about this team moving forward. He's taken the steps he showed at the end of last year and continued to progress further this year. It's been a long time since the Flames had a defence pairing that worked as well as Giordano and Brodie are. I think you have to go back to Regehr and Leopold the first time round to find two guys who played this well together.
