To me it is all about the potential for injury on the player's part. A highly touted prospect like Gaudreau is looking at least a million bucks (made up number) that he is guaranteed the moment he signs with the Flames. One cheapshot or accident in a developmentally redundant senior year and... POOF.
I would not counsel my kid to take that risk.
