It is very possible for regression.

Having said that, this is not a year where all the stars have aligned and everything has gone perfectly. The Flames have had a LOT of injuries, and to very key players, including a long one to Giordano who has been without question the best player on the team, and Ramo. They have also been in a conference that has been completely dominant for much of the year, yet they have acquitted themselves decently against the stiff competition.

Regression could be in the cards if Giordano and Brodie take steps back next year. Or Ramo looks more like he did at the start of the year than he has since Christmas. Or if Cammalleri leaves and the offence dries up. But I don't think all of those things are likely to happen. This team seems to be winning with a recipe that can be replicated and maintained. Couple that with fewer injuries and it is just as likely that this team could improve next year.
