i'm 25

my parents moved from nova scotia to calgary in the early 90s, and being a big hockey fan it was only natural to cheer for the home team. I was born in 88 so obviously i missed the cup run, but some of my earliest memories are of watching the flames on tv, and going to flames games. I remember how every game I'd gone to see as a child resulted in losses, except for one in 1997. I know it was this year because we were playing the mighty ducks and the row in front of me won VHS tapes of D3 the mighty ducks, and someone there was very gracious and gave my dad a copy of the movie

I still have a pedestal flames jersey with my name on it from back in those days that looks like it wouldn't fit on my cat let alone a younger version of myself

Obviously everyone who remembers 04 had some great memories, but my fondest memory has to have been game 1 of the stanley cup finals(my birthday). My GF took me to go see the movie Troy, and when we got back to her house, every single one of my friends was there waiting for me for a surprise birthday. Being 16, we were all pretty excited and that they won 4-1 is something i'll remember for the rest of my life

fast forward to today, 2 months to the day shy of my 26th birthday, and I should be a season ticket holder next year. crazy to think the cup run was 10 years ago
