That's a very fair reason to not use it, and honestly it comes down to personal preference. But by that same token, is it any different than watching Breaking Bad on Netflix instead of buying the DVDs?
Yes the economics of TV/Music are very different, but the market rate for recorded music has been hovering around $0 since the Napster days. Right or wrong most music consumers aren't willing to drop $20 on a single album anymore.
Personally I still pick up vinyl copies of albums I really like as I know the artist make squat from Rdio. But I also don't feel too bad about checking out something like Katy Perry or Skrillex on release day just because it's there. Both albums I might give a single spin to, but wouldn't have picked up either way.
