36 this Friday.
I went to my first game in 1986 or 1987. I'm not entirely sure exactly. I do know it was 5-3 win over the North Stars. I remember the 86 run, but not that clearly.
I remember everything about winning the cup in 1989 even though my dad ended up taking me to Australia with him after round 2. I rocked my Flames jersey and and hat all over Melbourne. It was impossible to find out ANYTHING back then, unless you were rich and had satellite TV. I didn't even know we had won the cup until I was on a flight back from LAX. I overheard 2 guys talking about Montreal and the Flames in the final. I jumped up and asked who won. They said Flames in 6. I sat back down and couldn't believe it.
When I finally got back home, my uncle (Nammer403's dad, Nammer was only 5 months old!) had a VHS tape for me. On it was game 6 of the finals, the parade, and the celebrations at Olympic plaza. Wow. I literally cried watching it all. Unreal. I'm pretty sure I can still name all the players on that team in numerical order because I watched the tape over and over. I think it maybe in my basement somewhere. I'm sure I never threw it out.
2003-2004 I achieved my life long dream of being a season ticket holder and have been ever since.... And always will be.
