Well they can obviously make up a reason for them to head to a big city. Maybe that will be near the end of the series, but they can say they've found a cure, or found salvation, anything like that. Who knows what is happening in big cities now anyway. Perhaps a few of them have been cleared out of walkers, and there would be a better chance of surviving there now. The first few episodes in Atlanta occurred right after the outbreak, and surely a lot has changed since then. Maybe I am just sick and tired of them strolling around the woods, as the setting hasn't really changed in 4 full seasons now. Even when they were in the prison a lot of the episode was them walking around the woods as they were often engaged in the Woodbury plot.
