I've lived in both cities, and Winnipeg is actually way nicer during the (admittedly fairly short) summer. It's hotter, greener, the Folk Fest is absolutely amazing, there's nothing as big as the Stampede, but there's always something small and cool going on.

I have nothing against the Jets as a team on the ice. They're not great, or even good, but there's nothing dirty or distasteful about them.

Their fans are still excited about their shiny new team. There's good Jets fans and lousy Jets fans, but there's really nothing to make them stand out as being worse than any other Canadian market.

I really like the Jets jersey, especially their home threads.

And I really like the fact that they're having a go at playing in a small Canadian market, despite everyone saying it wouldn't work. Maybe everyone was right, maybe everyone was wrong, but I can't look at them and say "You brought NHL hockey back to a small hockey-mad city on the Canadian prairies. That sucks."

In short, Winnipeg has some positive attributes.
