As u head south on highway 22 u will cross the oldman river and see a large closed gas station with a red tin roof. Head west at that gas station about 30 minutes and u will hit the forestry road. If u have buddy's with u there are lots of campgrounds they could stay at (racehorse, Dutch, and the oldman are the main ones). Dutch would be perfect, they could camp there and u could head west of the campground and into the bush to have your adventure. Lots of streams out there for water and fish, lots of deadfall to build your shelter, be careful it is bear country but there are enough people around that u likely won't see any. I've been going back there for about 20 years and have only seen beers on 2 occasions and they were both black bears.

Best of luck.
Great area's to camp out here, but make sure anything you pack in comes back out with you. It's amazing to see the amount of waste left behind out there. I do most of my camping and hunting in this area and i bring garbage bags just to clean up what my camp site has laying around from the previous people
and ill normally fill a couple of them. As for bears, the whole eastern slopes is covered with them so be bear smart, make sure you got spray on you as there is ALOT of grizzlies in the racehorse, oldman and cabin ridge areas.
