But it's not universally true, which therein lies the beer snob problem. Beer snobs speak in definitives and never account for personal taste.
Personally, North American macrobrews do less for me than North American microbrews. That said, there are a lot of microbrews that are a lot worse than a Budweiser, and a lot of Macrobrews (German and English specifically) that destroy a lot of popular North American Microbrews.
Bottom line: Beer is about taste, and that's an individual thing. I'm fine with certain beers being noticed for their quality ingredients or processes, but at the end of the day it's just beer. The line "If you don't think craft beer is better then you don't like beer" is top level beer snob junk. Just drink your brew. I'll toast a Village before a Bud any day, but I'm not about to look down on anyone who prefers the latter.
Plus when I'm camping, PBR becomes the best beer on the planet. Guess I must not like beer.
