Maybe you have been around as long as some, but trust me when I say it's an old idea and has been done many times, and people are sick of it. I remember in elementary, we had to write a short story in an hour as part of an exam. I think they gave you the beginning and you had to write the rest. I remember I worked in Pearl Harbour and time travel, which it's pretty good for a 10-year old if I do say so myself. Guess watching all that Sci-Fi stuff as a kid paid off!
Anyway, after the exam, my teacher was praising how creative and cool my story was, and told me half the kids coped out (likely ran short on time) and did the "it was all a dream" ending. So I guess the point of this is that yeah, it's been done to death. But really the main point of this story is to praise the 10-year old version of myself. Yeah! *looks for high fives*
