Every staff member gets 15 paid sick days a year, plus 5 paid "family" days per year, plus 1 paid flex day per year, plus 1 paid "volunteer" day per year. And then of course there are the 15 paid vacation days per year that everyone starts out at and this increases to 20 days after 8 years.
Oh.. by the way, you can carry over your sick days from year to year if you don't use them.
Now I know this is an example of a federal employee, however I suspect there isn't much difference between her and a provincial employee.
