As per their constitution, the PCs have to have a leadership race that is concluded within 6 months from the day the leader steps down - which is this Sunday. (So the race will be over by the end of August)
Once the new Party leader is selected we'll have a new Premier and then all bets are off as to when the next election is. Smart money is that the next provincial election will be sometime in 2016 to A) Give the new leader time to carve out a name and direction B) for the PCs to refill their warchest for what will be an expensive and gritty election.

I think it has to be in 2016 based on the legislation from 2011? I'm pretty sure there is a set range of dates for the next election to be held.
