Here's a fun theory...not sure if anyone has heard this theory before, but what if all of this is simply Rick in a coma, still in the hospital. Shane, Lori, everyone still alive and this is all Rick in a coma thinking he woke up to this. Personally I think that would be a fantastic ending to the series.
But then again, I loved the ending to Newhart when he wakes up to his other TV wife Suzanne Pleshette and says you won't believe the dream I had about being an innkeeper. Awesome ending.

Ugh, that has been done to death. And speculated to death when it hasn't happened. The writers will be on my 'list' if they pull that crap.
I guess what I mean to say is, I politely disagree.
It worked for Newhart cause it's a comedy, cause Newhart is the king of deadpan and understatement, and because that was a long long time ago.
