The only thing that makes sense is for Burke to lowball him. He'd be a great asset on a cheap contract. 2 years @ 4.5 per perhaps. He says no of course. They part ways.
I don't really see any scenario where Cammalleri is back. He'll get more on the open market then it would make sense for us to offer him. We can't build around a small winger when we already have them in abundance (Hudler, Byron, Baertschi, Gaudreau.)
It's annoying that no team was willing to pony up anything decent for him at the deadline.
