A lot of people (including me) will tell you that any player getting out-produced by his goalies in junior has basically zero chance of being a career NHLer. As in I don't think it's ever been done. Players with the hockey sense to be full-time NHLers have the hockey sense to put up more than 2 points in juniors as an 18 year old, even just through sound positioning and safe passes.
But for some reason he was on the radar of enough scouts that guys like McKenzie and Pronman were expected him to go in the 2nd or 3rd round.
