Ya, I keep coming back to why would someone land a plane in a country, and not tell anyone why? Like why would you hijack and not release any information at all, kind of defeats the agenda you are trying to push. Unless they are buying time to hide the plane and passengers, and demands will be released when they are ready. Although they must know the US and the world would come down on them and whoever they support hard.

My thought is that it was hijacked, by a passenger or pilot, it was then flown over the ocean, and crashed due to lack of fuel or a struggle. That in itself is bizarre but it is all I can think of given the lack of info at this point.
