As refueling aircraft wih F-16's or F-15's pass near YYC source, we can actually easily see the fighter's primary returns. The tanker is the only one squawking during altitude reservation flights such as these. Now, a target the size of a 777 has a pretty significant cross section and would be easily detectable from quite a range. The SIA68 flight would be sending an ambiguous return for the time they were "coupled". Wicked piloting skills if he could tail the other 777 without anyone knowing. James Bond sh*t right there. At least it's one of the more entertaining theories that's been pitched in a while."
