Also give him some time. If he matures defensively with his front end skills now, he very well could end up as a complete package. Look at Al Macinnis. The guy could hardly skate when he came into the NHL, all he had was the shot. By the time he retired, he was a top level shut down guy.
Lidstrom proved you don't have to be physical to shut down top players. Positioning and smarts was all it took. The guy rarely threw a hit. And was the best first pass that ever played the game.
