Because doing business in a have-province, with a strong economy, costs a lot more money than doing business in a have-not province with poor economy. The cost of labour alone is markedly higher due to the increased costs in the standard of living for necessities such as housing. Plus there is an influx of people into the Province of Alberta, this population costs a higher amount to support relative to an established population because capital projects that cost money need to be built, such as schools, roads and hospitals.
Could you provide a link to something that shows increasing revenues relative to the past few years by the way, because everything I have seen indicates lowered resource revenue due to sluggish natural gas prices.
There obviously are inefficiencies, but at the same time does that differ from any other organization?
