When I first started out my dad would follow the instructions and string a stick for me.(he was all hockey never played lacrosse) I had some very laughable pockets but it was a good way to both learn. As I grew up I started tinkering a lot more with the stringing side of things then I went on to work at a lacrosse store and did it all day everyday. The best thing you can do for those kids is take them all first day of practice and take them home and fix them.
