If there was a replacement needed for Cammalleri's spot in the summer, I'm not sure why Byron can't permanently take that. He's having a huge impact for the Flames on the ice.
In my opinion, with the departure of Stempniak and the injury to David Jones, and the potential departure of Cammalleri, Byron has played his way onto this team for good.

He can play in the top 6 during the rebuild sure but once the team is ready to contend then they are going to need a much better player than Byron. But might as well have him out there skating around making the fans happy than TJ Galiardi or David Jones.
