I read an interesting analysis in the months after the election that the WR support really softened in Calgary and Edmonton after Smith used some climate denialist language. There was a poll conducted before and after those statements by coincidence that seems to indicate that. It was no surprise then that one of the first mea culpa's of the party after the election was to unequivocally say that they believed in climate science.
