If your defense is that your cell phone signal is strong so you don't need a tower, you might want to understand how the umbrella cell infrastructure work, unless you are going to assume that Telus won't point it out. There are 2 areas that get poor signal from a cell tower. The obvious one is far away, outside a certain radius from the tower. The other, less obvious is right near the tower.
So, for you to get good signal, someone needs to have a tower near you, but not too near you. This means that while Telus might not be telling the complete truth about the signal strength in your exact area, they also need to consider surrounding areas. Those areas contain towers that make the Woodbine/Woodlands area have good signal.
That said, it is a cell phone tower. Its like 20'x20' of space that is taken up. No sight lines blocked or issues other than it was ugly and 300m tall. So complain, but its not a hill I would want to die on, that's for sure.
