Although the name Kazem Ali sounds more Arabic to me than Persian. Not that Iran doesn't have some Arabs, but the population is rather small (only like 2% of the population), it would be rare to meet one even in Iran, but especially one in Thailand.
Maybe I am wrong, and not that it matters. I agree that the stolen passport issue is probably nothing more than a distraction right now.
