Some of these tweets really don't fit the caption at the bottom. The tweets by Scheuler and Thelen really show how people can believe in god and accept science. This kind of posting really works a creating a dichotomy between religion and Cosmology/Evolution that doesn't really exist. There is only a conflict between Young Earth Creationists and Cosmology/Evolution.
Pitching science as something that you can only believe in if you abandon religion is just going to polarize moderates. The messaging from these kind of groups needs to change to accept science and all its benefits inclusive of your religion rather than switch religions and worship at the alter of science. By making posts like this it puts Religion and science as competitors rather than science as the explanation of the universe and how things work and religion as a spirtual guide.
Cosmos was great and look forward to watching the whole series. Its unfortunate that instead of being recieved as here is our current scientific knowledge of the universe it will immediately become fodder for the ongoing internet fights of Creationism V. Science.
