Two seemingly unrelated people had their passports lost or stolen while in Thailand a year+ ago, and then both passports, and whoever then possessed them, end up on an airplane that loses all communications out of the blue in the "safest" part of the flight at cruising altitude.
Sounds a bit fishy to me.
