The reality is, Gaudreau would most likely be mandated to play, but nobody else. What that means is Arnold, Agostino, Poirier, Kulak, etc. would be playoff depth and practice guys. Ward's unlikely to take a guy like, say, Poirier and insert him into the lineup right away before someone who has worked his ass off in the AHL all year. Not only that, but it'd be incredibly unfair to take one of the current guys out of the lineup and replace him with a junior/college guy.
But again, there's no way the Flames' management doesn't mandate Gaudreau to play. The rest of the guys will still get an ample amount of experience just being in the AHL around professional players and coaches as well as running through an AHL practice.

Something tells me Poirier will be in a similar boat as Gaudreau.. I think he will end up playing. I agree with the rest of the group however.
