I really like the way this rebuild is coming along thus far. It seems we're going to be building a team that will see success-by-committee; not necessarily a superstar or two that will single-handedly lead this team.

Monahan, Granlund, Backlund, Reinhart, Knight, Colborne, Ortio, Byron.... this is a great group of talent populating our forward and goaltending ranks. They will be further supplemented in the future by guys like Gaudreau, Arnold, Poirier, Klimchuk, Gillies and whomever our 1st rounder this year will be.

Our defensive depth could use work, and hopefully that's a priority for this club going forward. This draft, plus any potential trades down the line (veterans for almost-ready prospects), hopefully see some focus on the blueline.

Ward is teaching our guys to play a complete game down in Abby; I have a feeling our team is going to see success quicker than Edmonton will, and in 1/5 the time required for a rebuild.
