Yeah it's been weird hearing how bad the Flames are when they have been competitive all season. HNIC hit an all time low Saturday spending the entire broadcast talking about the Oilers great talent while dismissing the Flames as a Buffalo Sabres type also ran all while ignoring that the Flames were the better team in the standings and dominating the Oilers.
As far as the media is concerned if you don't have a cupboard full of top 5 picked players you are viewed as having no talent in the system despite the fact that virtually every player that's been brought up from Abbotsford this season has acquitted themselves very well and don't look out of place at all.
I really am getting a good feeling that this team is only another solid draft and player acquisition or two from a sharp upswing. Also for the first time in a long time I have faith in management to follow through and not botch things up.
